The GR34, the Customs Officers' Path
The GR34 is one of France's most spectacular hiking trails, following the entire Breton coastline. From your gîtes in Saint-Malo, including 1 with sea view, you have direct access to the GR34 for unforgettable walks.
From Rothéneuf to Cancale
From Plage du Pont (in front of Le Pont gîte), the GR34 heads east towards Cancale. This 12km stretch crosses breathtaking wild landscapes: pink granite cliffs, secret coves, views over Mont-Saint-Michel bay. Allow 3h30 walking. Take time to explore Cancale and its world-famous oysters.
From Saint-Malo to Dinard
Heading west, the GR34 follows the beaches and ramparts of Saint-Malo before reaching Saint-Lunaire and Saint-Briac. A 15 km walk with exceptional views over the Emerald Coast.
By bike: the Vélodyssée and the Rance Greenway
The region is also ideal for cycling. The Vélodyssée (EuroVelo 1) crosses the Saint-Malo area. The Rance greenway (former railway) links Saint-Malo to Dinan (25 km) on a dedicated path with no hills — perfect for families.
